Fabrice Renaud is a self-taught artist born in France in 1974. Younger he has lived in South Africa for 5 years, where he probably developed his taste for bright colours.
He now lives in Dublin (Ireland). Fabrice describes his relationship to the paint as something very emotional. Usually painting listening to music, his abstract works, despite a somewhat chaotic appearance, are very structured in order to attain the visual balance and reflect the emotion he seeks.
His painting techniques are quite unconventional; Fabrice doesn't hesitate to drop the brush to apply paint with improvised tools like a wallpaper scraper or even his bare hands. His inspiration comes from different sources ranging from the masters of modern abstract expressionism to the geometrical Celtic and pre-Columbian designs.
Some of Fabrice's paintings can be seen at the Metatron art gallery.
